Download Our Kids Activity Pack
For those with kids who are home from school due to the spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), finding activities to help them keep engaged is hard. At Westminster Communities of Florida, meanwhile, residents are self-isolating and a personal touch can go a long way to brightening someone’s day.
How can we put the two together?
The answer is our new Kids Activity Pack, a downloadable nine-page pack of fun activities for kids to enjoy. They include games and activities, but also a template for writing letters, thank you cards and drawings to send to residents at Westminster Communities of Florida.
Fun for all ages, the Kids Activity Pack has a maze, coloring exercises, Sudoku, tic-tac-toe and more. We’re providing a copy to our employees with kids to take home, but we encourage anyone looking for fun ways to spend time with the family to download it.
Chris Ware, Creative Design Coordinator, created the Kids Activity Pack while working from home this week. He was inspired by the idea and, as a parent, wanted to help his own kids understand the Mission of Westminster. “One of my motivations was to explain to kids what we do in senior living,” Ware said. “I saw this as an opportunity to inform them about our field. I don’t think one piece can do that on its own, but it’s something I’d be interested in cultivating more.”
You may send your letters to residents in our communities by addressing them to the Director of Volunteers at the community nearest you.
We’re going to publish updated activity packs in the future, with more fun and enriching activities for older adults.
