Even in these challenging times, the Westminster Communities of Florida family continues to expand in how we serve our residents. Construction is continuing on several new development projects and enhancements throughout the state. Westminster Towers, in Orlando, is creating a new Fitness Center and renovating its dining spaces. It’s part of our ongoing effort to enhance communities all throughout the state. Construction is nearly complete on a project to enhance dining and fitness on the ground floor of the community, built by our partners, Edwards Construction Services of Orlando. The project will expand the Crossroads Café serving grab-and-go fare, by renovating the serving area and enclosing the patio to create enhanced seating. It will also create a new, modern Fitness Center adjacent to the swimming pool, and renovate the private dining room. At Westminster Baldwin Park, a neighborhood of Westminster Winter Park, work continues apace on Phase II of development. Following our April 2019 groundbreaking and February topping-off, Westminster Baldwin Park’s Phase II is expected to open in 2021. Thank you to our construction partners, Clancy & Theys Construction Company of Winter Garden! Phase II will feature 76 new apartment homes ranging from 1,164 square feet to nearly 3,000 square feet. Following our special, social-distancing groundbreaking in March, site work continues while providing for the safety of residents and team members at the community. the community will be adding a new neighborhood for memory care, with 32 apartments and state-of-the-art facilities and programming, built by our construction partners, Cook Brothers, Inc., of Tallahassee. We expect the new Memory Care Center to open in 2021.
