As you are aware, Westminster Palms has been closely monitoring the developments of Hurricane Idalia over the past few days. We are sharing an update regarding our hurricane-preparedness plans and the latest information we have received from the emergency management team in Pinellas County.
The authorities in Pinellas County have changed our community from Zone A to Zone B, and therefore it is not mandatory to evacuate. Westminster Palms is now actively planning and preparing to shelter in place during the storm.
While we can never predict the exact course of a hurricane, the information we have received indicates that the risk in our immediate vicinity has diminished, and our safety is not as compromised as initially thought.
Please be assured that our decision has been made in consultation with the experts and emergency management officials who are well-versed in these matters. The safety of our residents remains our top priority, and we are taking every precaution to ensure their well-being during this challenging time.
We will continue to follow the recommendations of the National Hurricane Center and local emergency management authorities, and will update with any new developments.
